Cancer Services’ mission is to provide personal, compassionate cancer support and prevention services to help improve the quality of life of our clients and the health of our community.
We are an independent non-profit United Way agency that provides support to patients/families in Midland, Clare & Gladwin counties through financial aid, counseling, emotional support via support groups and PALS (Partners as Life Survivors), transportation to medical appointments, wigs, hats and other supplies, home visits by RN, lending library, wellness services (Gentle Yoga, Reiki, Zumba Gold—all free of charge).
Prevention programs are offered to worksites, schools, and community groups, including presentations on Lowering Your Cancer Risk, Sun Safety, Tobacco Awareness, etc. Help is provided to stop smoking through individual sessions and group series, and self-help kits.
