Name: Building The Lake Superior Water Trail
    Date: April 22, 2018
    Time: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM EDT
    Event Description:
When Canadian explorers, photographers and authors Gary and Joanie McGuffin canoed around Lake Superior in 1989, it was the beginning of their lifelong love for the greatest expanse of freshwater on Earth. In 2004, they formed a land trust with a vision to protect the long-term health of this watershed through basin-wide education, scientific study, conservation and preservation of ecosystems - a big geography and a tall order. However, many initiatives were underway, such as building water trails in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. In 2013, the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy partnered with Trans Canada Trail to complete a 600-mile water trail along the North Shore as part of Canada's 150th celebrations. The McGuffins will share a unique conversation story of building a Water Trail that connects Lake Superior communities. FREE | All Ages, under 18 w/adult
