The Ducky Derby race itself begins when thousands of “adopted” rubber ducks are cast down the river. Adoptive parents of the first 10 ducks to cross the finish line will waddle away with prizes, including a $1,000 and a $500 cash award!

Adopt your duck today for just $5! Increase your odds of winning by purchasing a Six Quack for $25, a Ducky Dozen for $50, or a Max Quack of 25 for $100. You need not be present to win. Stop by the CAN Council or Jolt Credit Union’s Saginaw or Bay City branches to adopt your ducks! Ducks are also available online or they can be adopted at the event.

Sponsorship opportunities available! All proceeds from the 7th annual Ducky Derby & Family Fun Fest benefit the CAN Council’s Child Abuse Prevention Education (CAPE) programs working to prevent child abuse through community education in the Bay and Saginaw counties. The recently released 2019 Kids Count in Michigan Data Book shows an increase of 19.3% in the number of confirmed child abuse and neglect victims in Bay County from 2016 (466) to 2017 (556), and Saginaw County saw a 5.7% increase from 2016 (804) to 2017 (850) in confirmed victims. Kids Count provides recommendations for preventing child abuse and neglect including investing in parenting education, which the CAN Council offers in both Bay and Saginaw counties. The Ducky Derby & Family Fun Fest not only provides a free family fun event, but an opportunity to participate in strengthening programs to prevent child abuse in our communities.
