Job Description

Bay Tech is looking for a patient and caring individual that will be responsible and accountable for the direct care of residents as delegated/directed by the house manager, administrator and/or DCS.

Part time/Full time
2nd & 3rd shift 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Resident Care Responsibilities that Follows universal precautions, Assists with feeding if needed. Hygiene – bathes residents, changes occupied and unoccupied beds, performs diaper changes and perineal skin care
Performs safety checks to include fall precautions
Ambulates, transports, and positions residents with proper body mechanics
Psychosocial interventions – provides diversional activities, comforts, and supports residents/family
Prepares and serves meals as required
Assist in meeting physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each resident
Handle emergency situations appropriately according to procedure manual
Know whereabouts of residents at all times both in the home and in the community
Participate and carry out activities with Residents as required

Communication Responsibilities:
Informs Administrator and Resident Family/Designated Representative of any/all pertinent information regarding changes in resident’s condition or care.
Effectively relates to and interacts with residents, families, visitors and other staff
Records observations and care interventions on appropriate forms

House Responsibilities:
Communicates with Administrator/DCS regarding supply inventory
Maintains clean and orderly resident environment
Removes, labels, and reports any malfunctioning equipment
Performs daily tasks according to schedule e. Food preparation according to facility menus

Personal Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to give care cooperatively with co-workers
Keeps DCS informed when tasks are completed: uses any unstructured time to assist other staff and or for general housekeeping
Attends staff meetings
Actively participates in quality management and continuing education activities. Updates and maintains knowledge, skills and competencies related to food service preparation and nutrition.

Education : High School Graduate or equivalent preferred (but not required)
Credentials : CPR & First Aid certifications required
Skills : Basic literacy skills; good command of English language demonstrated through verbal and written communication
Training : Shall be competent in the following areas:
Reporting requirements
First Aid & CPR
Personal care supervision and protection
Safety and fire prevention
Prevention and containment of communicable diseases
Resident rights
Ability to perform required duties safely without physical restrictions
Must be able to see, hear, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks without assistance
Must be able to safely & independently lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to safely move or re position residents of any weight or size with assistance of another staff
