Job Description
Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, MI hosts Friday night stock car racing April through Labor Day weekend. Flagman: Tri-City Motor Speedway is seeking a reliable, dependable and detail-orientated individual for Friday evenings from 6:30pm-12am (hours may vary). Must be able to work the full season (up to one scheduled day off per race season). You are able to work at another racetrack that races on a different night of the week. Job Duties: The Flagman is responsible for signaling the cars with flags and over the Raceceiver radio. Once the cars come on the track and the Race Director verifies the line-up, the flagman starts the cars in turn 4. When a caution occurs, the flagman signals with the yellow flag and over the Raceceiver radio while directing the cars around the caution. The flagman has control over the race, is responsible for calling the caution car and keeping the show moving. The flagman is responsible for reprimanding drivers when necessary. The flagman also directs the safety crew to cars in need while looking out for the safety of the drivers, fans and TCMS team members. Skills Needed: A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks Must have strong problem solving and time management skills Must have great communication skills Attention to detail is required Knowledge of racing and racecars Quick learner Great customer service skills Adaptability and work under pressure Be able to make unbiased decisions very quickly Positive attitude Work in a team environment Must be able to stand for up to five hours at a time Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, twist, bend and wave a flag with one hand
