Mid Relay for Life Team Reaches Out
As part of Mid Michigan College’s effort to empower, support, and transform local communities, the College has fostered the development of a Relay for Life team. The For the Health of It team is comprised of Jan Noteboom, Faculty Coordinator of Allied Health, LouAnn Goodwin, Director of Imaging Sciences, Julie Hipkins, Nursing Faculty, Laurel McLaughlin, Clinical Simulation Center Coordinator, and Barb Wieszciecinski, Dean of Health Sciences and Director of Nursing.
The Mid Michigan College team will be a part of Gladwin County’s Relay for Life event for the third year in a row later this summer.
“I was inspired to launch a Relay for Life team by the many people I know who have been affected by cancer. The College is very supportive of our efforts and community outreach,” shared Noteboom.
The Relay For Life movement is American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser dedicated to helping communities fight cancer. Funds raised benefit cancer patient programs and cutting-edge medical research. The event also celebrates the over 15.5 million cancer survivors nationwide.
“We applaud and appreciate the efforts of our employees who strive to make a positive impact in their communities,” noted Dr. Christine Hammond, Mid Michigan College President.
In an effort to enhance the team’s fundraising efforts, two crafting events are scheduled. Both events take place at the Imaging Sciences building on the Harrison Campus of Mid Michigan College. Registration details for each event are listed below.
