Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) will host its annual meeting on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 3:30 pm at its Visitor Center, located at 400 S. Badour Rd. in Midland. Admission is free.
The meeting will begin with a welcome by Board President Adam Bruski, followed by the presentation of the annual report and a 2016 Year in Review by CNC’s new Executive Director Dennis Pilaske, serving in that role since January 1. Pilaske will introduce a brief video entitled 50 Years of Nature Connections, highlighting the events of the organization’s 50th anniversary year in 2016. A short business meeting will be held, including the 2016 financial report by Treasurer Kirk Fisher. Secretary Mark Robertson will facilitate the election of incoming board members Barbara ‘Bobbi’ Allen, retired from Delta College; Jenni Bush of SPACE, Inc. and Melissa Haswell, Ph.D. of Davenport University. Bruski will introduce current board members: Nancy Carney; John Davis; Kirk Fisher; Chris Gaumer; Brian Holmes; Rob Maxwell; Dr. Marianne McKelvy; Kimberly Reinhardt; Mark Robertson; Jamie Ross, M.D.; Colette St. Louis; Michelle Wilkins and Dr. Michael Witt.
The business meeting will be followed by a special presentation by Dennis Pilaske, CNC’s new Executive Director, “Looking Ahead: 2017 and Beyond.” As Chippewa Nature Center moves into its 51st year, its staff are excited to continue to offer programs designed to connect people of all ages to the natural world. Pilaske will introduce the staff and offer a peek at some of the exciting new programs and initiatives to look for in 2017. He’ll show the ways CNC is making a difference in the community and how it is contributing to the quality of life in the region.
Following the annual meeting, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments at a Meet and Greet with Chippewa Nature Center staff and board.
