Saginaw, MI –January 8, 2019 - The Saginaw Art Museum will host the first WNEM After Hours of the year on January 17, 2019. The event will take place at the museum from 6-8pm and be centered on the topic of New Year’s Resolutions. During this all ages event, guests are invited to learn more about the museum’s coming events for 2019 and share their perspectives on how the museum can continue its mission of providing art for all through education, exhibitions, collection and preservation of art.

“The New Year is a great time for reflection and considering the future,” says Stacey Gannon, Executive Director of the Saginaw Art Museum. ”We want to continue to learn from visitors how we can enrich their lives”

The galleries will be open throughout the evening where visitors can view the first exhibitions of the year. The Evolution of Stacie Rose in the Artisan Wing presents the works of Saginaw native Stacie Rose.   Rose uses color to convey the mood and essence of her paintings. Her paintings have shifted from depicting likeness to instead, capturing the unseen emotions and feelings hidden within her subjects. Rose uses bright colors, patterns and intricate line work as a tool to translate a deeper understanding of emotion.  Rose’s work is highly personal, as if the brush pulls from her subconscious and places the inner workings onto the canvas. This exhibition will be open January 4 – February 18, 2019
Drama and Pathos: Depicting the Human Condition in the museum’s Graphic Arts Gallery. Drawing from works in the permanent collection, this exhibition explores the breath of actions and expressions that represents the human condition. The exhibition will be open January 11-April 13, 2019

A complete listing of events and exhibitions can be found on the Saginaw Art Museum website at www.saginawartmuseum.org. The museum’s regular hours are Tuesday-Saturday noon-5pm.
